Charlotte is Feet First Podiatry's fearless team leader. Charlotte is both our Owner and Director and our Senior Podiatrist, with over 35 plus years of experience. Charlotte studied in Wellington and the University of Brighton (UK) for her Post Graduate BSc, Charlotte went on to study the management of the diabetic foot with a Winston Churchill Scholarship in 1995. Charlotte previously worked for 13 years as a Senior Podiatrist at the Christchurch Diabetes Centre, alongside her practice, formerly Charlotte Russell Podiatry which was started over 20 years ago, to Feet First Podiatry which was formed in 2002.

Leslie – Our Expert Foot Health Practitioner
After an impressive 40-year career in podiatry, Leslie retired from full-time practice in 2022. While she no longer holds a current Annual Practicing Certificate (APC), Leslie continues to share her wealth of knowledge and experience as a part-time Foot Health Practitioner.
Leslie is our go-to expert for general skin and nail concerns. Please note, as she does not carry a current APC, she is unable to see third-party patients under ACC, PHO schemes, or insurance. However, her dedication to foot care remains unmatched, and she continues to provide invaluable support to our patients.
Foot Care Assistant
We’re excited to welcome April to the Feet First Podiatry team as our Foot Care Assistant. She will be leading our Just Toe Nail and cosmetic services, bringing her passion and care to every patient.
Born and raised on a farm in Marlborough, April moved to Canterbury 12 years ago to pursue a career in Veterinary Nursing. After an enriching OE (overseas experience) in the UK, she returned to Christchurch and made a rewarding career shift into Allied Health.
April's enthusiasm for foot health is evident in the compassionate care she provides. She is looking forward to making a positive impact on the well-being of our patients at Feet First Podiatry.
Podiatry Assistant
Christina has joined the team as our part-time podiatry assistant, whilst she is undergoing her training to be a Registered Podiatrist at AUT. She has come from a background of working in the aged care and the disability sector, for the last 10 years. Her interest in podiatry came from her experience and realising the importance of improving her resident's quality of life and overcoming foot-related challenges by having the right professional foot care. Christina is looking forward to expanding her knowledge and skills in this ever-growing profession.
Lead Front of House
Yvonne is the friendly face you’ll meet first when you call or visit us at Feet First Podiatry. As our Front of House Receptionist and Administrator, she is passionate about delivering a warm, welcoming service to all of our clients, their families, and caregivers.
With an extensive background ranging from retail banking to project management and administration, Yvonne brings a wealth of experience. She holds a National Certificate in Business and Administration, a Certificate in Firstline Business Management, and Xero Accounting certification. Currently, she is furthering her studies with a Certificate in Apiary from Otago University.
Outside of work, Yvonne enjoys spending time with family and friends. Her hobbies include caring for over 100,000 "friendly" bees, dressmaking, reading, and being involved in her local church. She also keeps fit with gym sessions, swimming, and walking, having completed several fun runs and even a half-m
Part-Time Receptionist
A familiar face to our customers at The Shoe Room, Maree also covers reception at Feet First Podiatry on Tuesday evenings, as well as Wednesday and Thursday afternoons. Born and bred in Southland, Maree brings over 18 years of valuable experience in retail and administration to our team.
While we're working on impressing her with the wonders of Christchurch, Maree’s welcoming smile and expertise continue to enhance our clients' experience.
Practice Manager
Courtney has been the Practice Manager at Feet First Podiatry since 2016. Originally from the USA, she moved to Christchurch after marrying a Kiwi and now enjoys life here with her family.
In addition to managing the business administration for the clinic, Courtney also oversees operations at The Shoe Room. She’s always happy to assist with any inquiries. While you may often find her in the back office, don’t hesitate to pop in and say hello—she’s always ready for a friendly chat!
